This young family desired an airy, coastal aesthetic for their new ranch home's family room, but did not want to sacrifice livability with high maintenance materials. The room is sizable and had two opposite focal points, the TV and the fireplace. We divided the room into two seating zones with a beachy, grasscloth console table holding lamps in our primary accent color. We then grounded the entire space with a durable, sandy-hued rug, added generously scaled upholstered and slipcovered pieces in linen-looking performance fabrics and finished with an abundance of textures and colors inspired by the sea.
